Fresh fall fuyu persimmons (say that three times fast) are one of the sweetest fall fruits and full of vitamin C and Beta Carotene!
They are ready to eat out of hand, just like an apple. Since they’re predominantly seedless they’re a great food for eating on the go- just the tiny leaves on top are what’s left.
Since they do have thick skin, some people prefer to peel them. My preference is to eat them sliced!
Here are my top 3 ways to eat fuyu persimmons:
1) Sliced on a platter (with an optional side of nutbutter!)
2) On top of oatmeal (recipe here)
3) Sliced In a salad (persimmons pair great with balsamic – use in any salad you’d traditional use a pear or apple)
